• We're Traveling Mamas sharing our adventures with the world. We offer tips on great (and not so great) places to visit with children and how to have the best family vacations -- but it's not all about the kids, of course! Romantic escapes, girlfriend getaways, and solo trips are also important to us. Plus, we cover industry news and review travel gear, and we love to give things away!

Cheap Gear & Clothing at AltrecOutlet.com

    By MountainMama | January 23, 2008

Once my husband and I solidified our family’s plans for spring break, I devised a fitness plan in an effort to be HotMama on our trip to Southern California. Too many holiday treats and lack of exercise (okay, so I hadn’t been eating healthfully all fall…) led to too many extra pounds come January. So, I’m on a regular-exercise and mindful-eating kick.

Horny Toad Chloe Long Sleeve TopI promised myself I could spend $200 on new spring and summer clothes if I’m at my goal weight by the time we leave on vacation in March. Now I know where I’m going spend it if *when* I reach my goal: AltrecOutlet.com.

It’s got some AMAZING deals on cool outdoorsy and casual activewear from brands like Patagonia, Water Girl, Jansport and Quicksilver. I’ve got my eye on my favorite vacation sandal ever, the Keen Bali (I’m hoping more colors come available — I already have the bright blue); a super-cute long-sleeve shirt from Horny Toad (pictured above); a pair of capris from North Face; altrecdress.jpgand some decidedly sexy dresses from Roxy. (Can a 38-year-old mother of two pull off this strapless look — in Junior sizing to boot? Maybe if my name is Cindy Crawford. But you know what, I may as well try. The dresses are only $30, and if I spend at least $15 more I get FREE shipping! Plus, the site offers a 100% satisfaction guarantee. I suppose I shouldn’t wait ’til March, since these items may go fast… but I’ve got to stick to my leverage plan.)

The Altrec Outlet offers savings of up to 45 percent off regular prices on not only clothing for men, women and kids, but gear like sunglasses, headlamps, backpacks, sleeping bags and water bottles. Hmmmm. I’m thinking ahead to Father’s Day and to what my hubby might need to outfit our pop-up camper for travels this summer!
