Win Primal Elements Travel Soaps
By MountainMama | January 24, 2008
Here at TravelingMamas.com we like to give stuff away. After all, who doesn’t love it when the mail carrier leaves treats in your mailbox that you didn’t pay for?
To kick off an ongoing series of regular giveaways, we want to mail one lucky winner a set of “Girl Stuff” Primal Elements Soaps to Go. This sampler pack has 5 different mini soaps, and each is wrapped in its own acetate clamshell case. They’re great for popping into a toiletry bag for travel, not to mention they are solid soaps, so you can stick them in your carry-on (no 3-oz liquid container or Ziploc quart bag required). All Primal Elements soaps are colorful and fun, and handmade with vegetable glycerin.
Want to enter the giveaway? Just type up a comment below and tell us what your favorite travel toiletry is. Do you always fly with your handy make-up-remover wipes? Never leave home without your two-in-one toothbrush with built-in toothpaste? Share away! We’re always up for learning more travel tips.
We’ll take comments until midnight (EST), January 29, and put all the commenters’ names in a hat to draw one on Winning Wednesday, January 30. Check back then at TravelingMamas.com to find out who gets the prize. Drawing open to U.S. residents only.

Stumble It!

My favorite travel item is a teeny umbrella that weighs a few ounces and folds to a very small case. If I take it with me, it never rains. If I don’t take it, you can be assured that it will pour the entire trip! It’s sort of travel insurance for good weather.
January 24th, 2008 at
I always bring my own conditioner since I like a stronger one than most places have.
January 24th, 2008 at
I supposed that an umbrella is not a toiltry item, so….shampoo that is a conditioner as well (2 in 1) is my favorite toiletry item. This can be used as shaving gel and is also good for spot cleaning clothes that have food stains.
January 24th, 2008 at
I always bring a little bottle of Bath and Body Works moisturizer.
January 24th, 2008 at
My favorite travel toiletry item is baby wipes. They are great for spills and clean ups as well as grubby hands and faces.
January 24th, 2008 at
Some travel size shampoo

I don’t know if it’s a toiletry item but I always bring bandaids when I travel. They have come in handy twice. Once when I did a lot of walking I ended up with blisters on my feet. The other time my father-in-law almost fell and hit his elbow and it was bleeding.

January 27th, 2008 at
I was going to say Purell but that’s with me all the time and not just for longer trips away from home. The one personal travel item I find essential is Ponds Clean Sweep towelettes. It has a smooth side in case my face is a bit sun burned and a rougher side in case I need some exfoliating. It’s gentle enough to remove eye makeup, so that makes it a great “two-fer”. Because they pack flat they take up very little room and don’t run up against the liquid carry-on regulations. And no, I don’t work for Ponds!!
January 27th, 2008 at

My favorite travel toiletry is baby-scented vaseline and any hotel shampoo available. I use the shampoo in my bath water to make lots of bubbles. Then I lightly towel dry and rub on a thin layer of vaseline all over my body. It makes my skin really soft, I smell good, and I sleep sooo good.

Keep It Simple
My favorite toiletry is the 2-in-1 shampoo. You know, the shampoo that also includes the conditioner. I like it because it speeds me up…cutting out a step from my normal routine. I take some in a small bottle to save space.
