Romance at St. Augustine’s Casablanca Inn
By DesertMama | February 4, 2008
Have you ever been to our Nation’s Oldest City? If not, you should. St. Augustine is located in Florida, just south of Jacksonville (which happens to be the largest city by square mile in the contiguous U.S.). The best way to describe St. Augustine is simply “charming”. In fact, it is the perfect place for a romantic getaway — and Valentine’s Day is coming up.
This weekend I heard about a local St. Augustine B&B on the National Register of Historic Places called the Casablanca Inn. It sits on the bayfront and its history dates back to 1914 when it was the Matanzas Hotel and Boarding House. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings you can sit inside the Inn’s Tini Martini Bar or outside on the front veranda, overlooking the Matanzas Bay, and listen to live jazz or blues.
This month the Casablanca Inn is offering a special package for guests. In addition to your accommodations you can tack on $99 for The Everything Celebration which includes a private horse & carriage ride, a bottle of premier champagne (yum!), hand-dipped chocolate covered berries (double yum!).
A can’t think of a more romantic way to spend a weekend than in St. Augustine and Casablanca Inn sounds like the perfect place to stay.
