Contest Giveaway - Win a LUSH Mother’s Day Box
Posted by MountainMama on April 30, 2008
Have you bought your mom a gift for Mother’s Day yet? (It’s Sunday, May 11, by the way.) If you haven’t, Traveling Mamas just might have you covered!
We’re giving away this super-cool, ultra-fabulous box of goodies from LUSH fresh handmade cosmetics. It’s the “Mum Gift Set” valued at $47.95 and filled with the following:
- Comforter Bubble Bar Slice: Drop it in the bath for some fruity bubbles with a scent of cassis and cyprus oils.
- Dream Cream: Amazingly silky body lotion that I’ve used all winter long to soothe my dry skin. I have peace of mind using it on my kids, too, since its made from all-natural ingredients — like all of the LUSH products.
- Sakura Bath Bomb: Another bath product that fizzes and dissolves to release jasmine and orange-blossom scents.
- Lily Savon Soap: Pretty flowery fragrance that has been making me smile in the shower all week.
- Celestial Moisturizer: A very light cream for the face; my trial-size container has found a home in my travel toiletry bag. I’m thinking I need to buy a larger tub and make this my permanent facial moisturizer.
- Each Peach (and Two’s a Pair) Massage Bar: My husband and I sampled this the other night. We really dig the LUSH massage bars: they’re easy to rub on each other for some insta-massage oil with less mess. However, this one was just too citrusy for us. We smelled like Lemon Pledge. That said, my skin felt silky smooth the next day.
How to win this fabulous prize? Just leave a comment telling us a) how you would spend your ideal Mother’s Day or b) how you plan to celebrate Mother’s Day with your mother or wife.
Leave your comments until 11:59 p.m. (EST), Monday, May 5. And I’ll draw a name randomly, and post the winner’s name on Tuesday morning, May 6. Giveaway open only to residents of the United States. Sorry, relatives of Traveling Mamas: you can’t enter either.
And if you haven’t entered our Tots on the Go giveaway, get on over there and leave a comment.
Good luck!

My younger daughters live in Colorado, my oldest is in college in Boston, my mom lives in Texas and I live in California. So I would spend my ideal Mother’s day with all of them. Luckily My oldest is out of school and in Colorado so I am taking an extra day off work and cross my fingers that American Airlines/ America West will get me to Colorado so I will be able to spend Mother’s day with my girls.

I will be spending the day with my mother, my grandmother, and my 5 children. We start the day off with breakfast at grandma’s… then have a picnic lunch at the park… and end the day with dinner at my house. Every year we each pick a meal for the day… and we are in charge of one meal each. It works out great and we always have a wonderful time!!
April 30, 2008 at

This mother’s day is going to be a tough one for my mother. She just lost her mother on the 24th of April. She was extremely close to her so she’s been having major issues dealing with her death.
My ideal mother’s day would be to get my mom out of the house & have a nice shopping spree & possibly a nice trip to the spa to help her relax and get her mind off of things for a while.
Winning these goodies would be the icing on the cake. I really hope to spoil her.
April 30, 2008 at
Just being together and having fun.
April 30, 2008 at
I want to spend the day with my family hiking, playing miniature golf, or otherwise having fun together. Then I want to come home and have a few hours of alone time while someone else makes my favorite dinner - lasagne!
April 30, 2008 at
Unfortunately I wont be doing anything for mother’s day. My husband will be working and we only have one car. My mother and sisters did away with me many years ago and my husbands wonderful mother past away 9 years ago…my husband still hurts (which I wouldnt blame him) because she was such a great woman. If anything we will be visiting her site for a few hours; maybe just sit around and read a book beside her. That always makes my husband a little better (and me too).
April 30, 2008 at
Ideally I’d go on a nice nature walk with my husband & daughter and then visit with my mother & grandmother. Nice & easy.
April 30, 2008 at
I had such a perfect Mother’s day last year, it would be pretty difficult to beat a spa day with a six year old followed by hiking in the mountains with the entire family! I suppose if I could add anything to it, it would be a bit more time in the morning to enjoy some coffee and conversation.

April 30, 2008 at
Well, the first thing I’m going to do is make her breakfast in bed. I’ve done this every year, since I was about five.
Next, I usually do little things for her, like cleaning her house and such.
Then me and my brother usually take her out to a spring-y restaurant. Like “Zinc” or “Rouge”.
Anyway, She would really like this!
April 30, 2008 at

April 30, 2008 at
I hope to have all of my grandchildren with me for Mother’s Day! All girls, all adorable. The best Mother’s Day was the tea party I organized one year for my Mom and all of my sisters and sister-in-laws. I put out little finger sandwiches, three different teas, white tablecloths, the whole works. Afterwards we all drove to a tea house shoppe and purchased tea cups and saucers. And we purchased a tea pot for our Mom. We all wore fancy hats and gloves. It was great.

April 30, 2008 at

Hello! Short of the African safari I want to go on someday to view the animals, Mother’s day is the way that I love it!
My mother passed 8 years ago. My sister is ten years older than me. We are very close and she is my best friend. Her daughter has our family over to celebrate the special day! Andrea does all of the cooking and we exchange fun gifts. I would love to win this lovely gift set for my sister! She is the Godmother to both of my sons. Thanks for the chance to win. Cindi
April 30, 2008 at
We’ll probably go out to dinner with my son and daughter-in-law and her parents. Then I’d like to check out a greenhouse to see what’s new this season.
April 30, 2008 at
I’d like breakfast out–there’s a nearby restaurant that has a Bloody Mary bar on Sundays–followed by a long bike ride with my husband and daughter. While she’s napping, I’d like to take a bubble bath and a nap myself, then go for a walk in the woods after she wakes up. Dinner would be in, as a family, despite her early bedtime, and we would get carryout Cajun food. Perfection.
April 30, 2008 at
My mother loves to gamble, but living in Utah, we are severly restricted in the availability of casino’s - so every year, I take my mother to the bingo parlor so she can play. Mind you, this is not very fun for me, but she absolutely loves it, and, well, she totally deserves it.
April 30, 2008 at

My ideal mother’s day would start with the Sunday paper and breakfast in bed, followed by a long hot shower, and a day of scrapbooking in my craft room with an endless supply of chick flicks. Then maybe spend some time in the yard with my kids, planning our summer garden and planting some vegetable starts! Oh, and an endless supply of latte’s!
April 30, 2008 at
I love lush!!
My ideal mother’s day would involve lots of silence, followed by shopping with my best girlfriend, then dinner with my family, and then my mother in law would magically be here to babysit while me and my husband get to spend some time alone! Total fantasy though! lol.
You should totally pick me(even though it’s random) because you’re choosing a winner on my birthday!

Hopefully I’ll be able to go home for Mothers’ Day, but I probably won’t. So the following weekend when I WILL be there, I plan to take my mother and sister (who became a mother nine days ago) out to dinner (I have lots of good memories of us in Mexican restaurants) and then we’ll watch both of the Ace Ventura movies, which we all found hilarious when I was, like, ten. I just remember the three of us laughing hysterically at them. My father didn’t watch them with us because he never found them funny, so it was just the three of us.

Then we go down the street to the St. Louis Botanical Garden and spend a few hours there. On the way back to the car we stop off at Gringo Jones, an eclectic store in the neighborhood. Then, we hit the St. Louis Zoo. We’ve been doing it for years. If it rains, we go to the St. Louis Art and History Museums.
May 2, 2008 at

I want to spend mother’s day with the babies and just play with them all day.
May 3, 2008 at
My ideal mother’s day? Staying home with my family, eating breakfast in bed, watching great movies and spending time together.
May 3, 2008 at
Inwould like to spend mothers day with my mother, but she is in PR, and this is the first time that i dont spend this day with her. But I will spend the day with my husband and my two precious babies in the house, because my 2 baby is only 3 weeks older.Ithink the best part is be all together.

I’d like to spend the day with my daughers and my husband.

I will spend my mothers day this year with my sisters and daughters talking about my mother. We lost her last year to cancer this is our first mothers day without our beautiful mother. It will be very comforting to remember her and honor her on this special day.

What a wonderful giveaway! I’m spending Mother’s Day with my mom and my MIL. And this is my first year as a mom! We’ll be traveling that day, so we’ll have a big meal with both families, and lots of time playing with our five-month-old!
May 3, 2008 at
I’d love to spend the day at home, reading the paper, enjoying a late breakfast and then cooking on the grill later in the day.
May 3, 2008 at
I hope my husband takes care of the kids all day, so I can read in bed till noon, eat junk, and watch movies all day!
May 3, 2008 at
I would love to just have an opportunity to stay in bed and read a book right after I take a shower and stay in there until the hot water runs out! I haven’t done that since before my son was born!
May 3, 2008 at
My ideal mothers day would be to spend it with my mother. Unfortunately, she lives 1,000 miles away. I’ll have to settle for sending her flowers and calling her. It will be nice to spend the day with my kids. We’ll probably go out to dinner.

Sleeping late and watching a movie with the kids

Spending the day with my mom–but am not sure yet what the plans are… probably whatever she wants to do!
May 3, 2008 at
I plan on spending the day with my kids, enjoying them, and loving the time with them. I also plan on remembering my mom, all she was to me and all she had done and, yes, missing her.

[...] Traveling Mamas - LUSH Mother’s Day Box (May 5th) [...]
May 3, 2008 at
I’d love for my kids and husband to take me out to a breakfast buffet that I’ve been coveting for years. Then I’d like a trip to the garden center and for all of them to help me with the spring yard clean-up.
I dream big.
May 3, 2008 at
I would love to be able to sleep in past 7am, have a nice home cooked breakfast and spend the day at the spa. A day to myself.
May 4, 2008 at
I’ll be spending Mother’s Day cooking for my mom, even baking her some cupcakes, and I’m excited to get to give her a book she’s been wanting! Would be nice to give her that box of Lush, too.
May 4, 2008 at
since my mom is out of the country, i would still give importance to mother’s day. i would send her a special mother’s day card so that in some ways, she would appreciate my effort and she would know that we loved her very much.

How would I spend my “perfect” mothers day?
- Breakfast in bed. (or at MiMi’s Cafe)
- Manicure and Pedicure (with my girls)
- Cards and chocolate
- Hair appoinment (To hide my grey)
- Lunch at Panera Bread
- Dinner at Mataam Fez (Morrocan Rest. here in town)
- A few drinks with friend at the Cork house.
- Bed sheets washed, bed made and a hot bath with scented bubbles before sliding into my bed.

My ideal Mother’s Day would involve waking up to a perfectly clean and neat house. I would spend the day with my family, playing games, going for a hike, shopping, or curled up watching movies. I would love to not have to make any meals, but I wouldn’t have to go out…take-out would be just fine…anything, so long as I didn’t have to mess things up in the kitchen for that one day. I am pretty sure that Coke and good quality chocolate would have to figure into the equation somewhere. Though I am not one for gifts, if I had to choose something, it would be a new pair of fun pajamas or some decorative dish towels.
May 4, 2008 at
My ideal Mother’s day, would involve NO diapers, and a relaxing afternoon of shopping with my own mom, who I miss. My gifts would include a year of free maid service, a weekend spa getaway with my hubby and PERFECTLY behaved children for a day.
(I mean, while I’m dreaming here can I get a new Toyota Sienna, and personal trainer?)

Well, my breakfast in bed should come on CLEAN dishes. Last year they used stuff out of the dishwasher that didn’t run yet. (I didn’t say anything!) and I would like to go back to sleep after I eat.
May 4, 2008 at
No laundry; no dishes; no cooking.
Dinner in or out, but made by someone else.
Family together.
May 4, 2008 at
I’d love to be able to spend the whole day with my husband and son, exploring, shopping, and just hanging out together.
May 4, 2008 at
I’d like to spend the day with my mother, no cooking, cleaning, or anything, Just relaxing and talking and having a good time.
May 4, 2008 at
My ideal mother’s day would be to spend it with my family (children and grandchildren) on a nice warm beach somewhere, totally relaxed and enjoying each other’s company.
May 4, 2008 at
My sister and I are taking my mom out for a Mother’s Day girls only lunch on Friday. On the actual Mother’s Day, I’m going to lunch with my own family and then seeing a movie. Then I’m going to scrapbook for the day!
May 4, 2008 at
I would spend time with my Mom and my kiddos and nice brunch would be lovely.
Oh! and NO chores, absolutely NO chores…
I am not sure what our plans are yet…
May 4, 2008 at
All I want for mother’s day is a day that I can sleep in and have no housework to do. My body and my mind would just like one entire day to do absolutely nothing.
May 4, 2008 at
The flowers will be delivered to her work on Friday, dinner out at our favorite restaurant on Sunday.
May 4, 2008 at
i would just like to sleep until i woke up!! thanks so much!!

I’d like to sleep in, then a slow trip to Borders while my husband watched the three year old. Then lunch out. Then a nap while the baby (3 weeks old) naps. A gift certificate to the fabric store or a clothing store would be great. Or jewelry.

My ideal Mother’s Day would be to have all 3 of my children at home all at once, so we could celebrate the way we used to when they were younger. Sitting down to a meal together would be the best gift!
May 4, 2008 at
For Mother’s Day, I’m going to invite my Aunt (who is like my Mom) to my house for dinner. Then, we will look at old pictures in honor of my own Mom, who we lost in 2007.
May 4, 2008 at
The perfect mother’s day would be one where I could spend the entire day with my family, instead of working to try and make ends meet.
May 4, 2008 at
Take my mom out for dinner and to the casino.
May 4, 2008 at
My ideal mother’s day would be spent hiking w/my family.
May 4, 2008 at
I am going on an overnight trip with my mom and sister and can’t wait.
May 4, 2008 at
I have no idea how I will spend Mother’s Day with my mom! We have a strained relationship. I know that on Saturday is my little cousin’s 4th birthday party, and usually that doubles as a Mother’s Day get-together, leaving the actual Mother’s Day Sunday empty and sufficiently awkward! I’m guessing my mom will spend the day as she normally does, I will give her a present and a hug, maybe we’ll go out to breakfast, and after that, it will just be a normal day.
May 4, 2008 at
I would love to have a delicious breakfast with my 3 children under the age of 4 and my husband. Once my belly is nice and full, I would love to have a nice long nap.
May 4, 2008 at
This is my first mothers day as a mom! That’s good enough on my end of the celebration, but I want to take my mom to a book store and coffee shop. She loves books and coffee, but she has agoraphobia. My ideal day would be to get her out and have her actually enjoy it!

my ideal day would be on vacation somewhere tropical,no housework, no cooking etc…
May 4, 2008 at
I plan on spending the day with my mother. I will probably make lunch and then let her choose what she would like to do for the rest of the day. Maybe a movie.
May 4, 2008 at
Something simple. I would like to spend time with my mom on mothers day. I never get to see her. I would love to take her to dinner and go shopping.
