Father’s Day Contest Giveaway: Lush DAD Gift Box

    By MudslideMama | May 27, 2008

Father’s Day is coming, and I still haven’t recovered from Mother’s Day. What’s that? Breakfast in bed? Oh, thank you, my sweet children - ugh, that’s orange juice on my sheets now, isn’t it? - you really are so thoughtful. Father’s Day is usually completely different; while the moms are typically given time away on OUR day, dads are expected to spend some real Quality Time with their kids. Sure, it’s archaic - a vestige of the days when most moms stayed home and most dads hardly saw their growing children - but traditions are traditions (dads still generally don’t take the weekend off with their buddies on Father’s Day). This year, add a little adult twist to that tradition with a Lush Gift Box for men. Lush is that handmade, organic bath and body products company we’re constantly raving about.

Lush DAD Gift BoxThose kind folks at Lush are supplying the Traveling Mamas Father’s Day Contest Giveaway with a DAD gift box. This box itself is brightly colored and fun to receive. Inside, you’ll find an Ice Blue soap, New! solid shampoo bar, and Happy Hippy shower gel. Ice Blue soap smells like peppermint and really is a nice blue color; I like the sea salt for its scrubby action too. The New! Solid shampoo is great for travel (no getting bothered by those TSA guys at the airport security line) and is made with organic peppermint and cinnamon, smelling mostly like cinnamon. It stimulates the scalp during shampoos. Last, the Happy Hippy shower gel is a strongly citrus-scented gel that can sub as a shampoo.

As if Lush isn’t happy enough to share their products for Father’s Day, they kindly threw in my favorite melty massage bar too. The Wiccy Magic Muscles massage bar heats to the touch (or the backrub) with cinnamon leaf oil, and aduki beans add pressure to the massage. I love the Wiccy Magic Muscles massage bar. A massage with this Lush bar would be the perfect way to end Father’s Day.

To enter to win this great Father’s Day gift box from Lush, simply leave a comment describing your Lush Happy Hippy Shower Gelideal Father’s Day. The Father’s Day gift box giveaway is only open to US residents. Sorry, MudslideDad, you and other relatives of the Traveling Mamas may not enter this contest! For the rest of you, leave your comments below; the contest remains open until 11:59 PM Tuesday, June 3rd. And guess what? June 4th, the Winning Wednesday on which the contest winner will be announced, is my father’s birthday! Happy birthday, Dad. Hope Mom treats you to a massage.

      Happy Fathers Day,
Well, Me & My Husband have 5 Children. The oldest can drive, the rest are alot younger. The Ultimate Fathers Day for him would be that the kids took us to breakfast(Yes, I’am going too)probaly to Perkins or Cracker Barrel. He never had a pro massage or manicure & pedicure so I would get a couples Spa Day for us (I got homemade cards for Mothers Day) We never get to the beach- now-a-days with gas prices its becoming more of a dream. But in my dreams we would as a family go enjoy the sounds of the ocean, p/u shells, eat lunch and head home. Because were all are now Sandy & Salty (from the beach). I would whip out the gift of Lush products to the rescue!

My ideal fathers day would be seeing my dad. My dads lives in another state and the only communication we have is through the phone and computer. I didn’t start talking to him until a couple years ago and wish he lived back in the area again. If he showed up I would have a cook out and make salt potatoes since there not available in the area he lives in. I would also play frisbee with him since he says he has no one to play with down where he lives.

My ideal Father’s Day is simply spending some QUALITY time together which my Father along with my Husband and children do not spend enough time doing. Our daily grind is always so rush, rush, rush, that to me QUALITY time means relaxing, talking, laughing and making memories with no time contraints to detract us on this special day. If the weather is nice and we can barbeque in the backyard, that to me is the ideal family get together we can achieve some new memories to cherish. Thank you so much for offering this LUSH giveaway for Father’s Day!

My ideal father’s day…would be a surprise on the beach. Island breakfest served to my favorite dad. I’d have a hammock set up because I know he’d enjoy that. With a full day of no work where he can just lie in the sun and sip fruity drinks. I’d make sometime to run to his local favorite store and get him a nice new shirt..bahama probably. And dinner, dinner would be…I haven’t figured it out yet. But a spa treatment to top off the day!!!

Steve Holt values his time watching his borrowed 12 inch television set. He is a special dad called THE BIG DADDY. He will be 48 years old on June 13th, and he is the only family member capable of connecting his four siblings to one another. All four are mentally retarted adutls. Steve’s own son lives a state away and is married. He also has a stepson living with him. Steve and his siblings were placed in an orphanage when he was six years old. If it wasn’t for the effort Steve continually makes the family would not know where the others were today. He has become the caregiver for one 46 year old sister. Steve’s relaxes by watching the borrowed 12 inch screen from across the room. It sure would be an unexpected reward for him to win a Father’s Day prize that would really help him relaxe. He is the BIG DADDY with an even bigger heart.

He’d be in Father’s Day fishing heaven! Lunch would be homemade sandwiches and a soda from the cooler. Then a little nap for Dad in the hammock, by the stream. Once home, I would give him his surprise gift, the Father’s Day Gift Box from LUSH! His day would be complete. xxxooo’s
