Puerto Vallarta Sunset
By MountainMama | July 5, 2008
I’m just back from a fantabulous two-week family vacation to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, where we stayed at three different resorts and condos in the area. (This Traveling Mama sometimes has trouble making up her mind when it comes to accommodations; I like sampling many, even if it means packing and moving every several days!)
Oh, we actually stayed at four different places, if you count the budget hotel where we lasted only one night. (Note to self: Budget accommodations south of the border can be very sketchy!) Don’t worry, in the coming months I’ll detail where you and your family should not stay (Hotel El Pescador), as well as my hearty, firsthand recommendations — so much to tell you about our family’s summer trip!
Here’s a teaser: We spent three nights at the Buenaventura Grand Hotel & Spa, in an oceanfront suite. There were so many great things about this resort — namely it’s location just a five-minute walk to Puerto Vallarta’s downtown area and main boardwalk lined with restaurants and clubs — but the sunsets we enjoyed each evening from the hotel’s beach were absolutely breathtaking. I couldn’t snap photos fast enough!

We went to Puerto Vallarta for our honeymoon and loved it but you do have to be careful about the accommodations.

So funny; I just wrote up a piece about the Buenaventura as a great honeymoon resort for young couples who want to be close to the nightlife in P.V.:

Puerto Vallarta is a great place. I live there part time and I like to check all the blogs that talk about Puerto Vallarta so I can keep up on what is going on down there when I am gone
