Winning Wednesday Summer Contest Giveaway Results
By MudslideMama | July 9, 2008
It’s Wednesday, and you know what that means here at Traveling Mamas. Well, maybe you don’t; let’s try that again. It’s…Winning Wednesday here at Traveling Mamas! Every few Wednesdays we do one of the things we love the most, which is announce the winners of our (at least) monthly contest giveaways. This week, the prize is a Lush Retro Gift Box, filled with 5 beloved yet discontinued Lush bath and body products. And our winner is Heather Curtis!
Entrants to this Boycott the Staycation summer contest giveaway were asked to tell the Mamas about their favorite childhood travel memory. Heather Curtis wrote, ” My favorite memory (though, I’m sure my parents would have to disagree) was when we were coming back home from a roadtrip to Key West, FL… My little brother and and I had gathered up a good amount of little crabs we had found on the beach and we stored them in a bucket of water and sand. We had planned to bring them home with us so we could keep them as pets. I’m not sure how we managed to sneak this bucket of crabs past my parents and into the van, but we did… Fast forward 8 hours into the trip back home and the van had come to a sudden stop for one reason or another… Live crabs, saltwater and sand EVERYWHERE!!! What a mess we had to clean up and we didn’t get to have pet crabs after all.”
Pretty hilarious, Heather. It’s so interesting how some events that seem messy or troublesome when
they happen, can later be the memories that make us smile the most. Congratulations! To get your package, just send me an email with your preferred mailing address (or post a comment below), and soon you’ll be awash in Lush Red Rooster or Pineapple Grunt soap - or perhaps, both.
And to all our hundreds of entrants in this week’s Traveling Mamas Boycott the Staycation contest giveaway: We loved reading your stories and learning about all the varied yet terrific travel memories you all have. Thanks so much for sharing.
