Travel Games Giveaway – Boycott the Staycation

If you’re like me, you’re often looking for ways to entertain your children while traveling–whether it’s on a ship, by train, on a bus or by car. I certainly don’t mind my MountainKids watching DVDs or fiddling on their Nintendos, but there often comes a point where I’m like, “Take a break from the electronics already!”

Enter Around the Table card games: Family Talk, Family Talk 2 and Grandparent Talk. Like the product MudslideMama reviewed a while back, these are portable conversation starters. Each deck of 100 cards was designed to promote dinner-table discussions, but since they are attached to a carabiner, they can clip to a carry-on bag or get thrown in the glove box, and they won’t scatter. Great for traveling!

To “play,” you have to do is pick a card, ask the question and learn more about family members. Questions range from “What’s your favorite dessert?” to “Name a rule at school or home that you’d like to change.” Others are: “What was your best family vacation?” “Is it ever okay to lie?” and “If you could be anyone famous, who would you be?”

The Grandparent Talk set is specifically designed to span the generations. Questions here include, “Do you like to dance?” “What’s the biggest fish you’ve ever caught?” and “How old were you when you first watched TV?”

The kind folks at Around the Table are helping us giveaway a deck of cards to two winners. You get to choose which set you want: Family Talk, Family Talk 2 or Grandparents Talk.

All you have to do is comment below with your own suggested question for the game. Like, off the top of my head, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” or “Do you like the color of your hair? Why or why not?” We’ll ask owner Beth Daniels to take a look, and perhaps your question will appear on the next version of the cards!
