Yapta.com Offers Frequent-Flier Seat Alerts

Other posts by MountainMama

A couple months ago I sang the praises of the website Yapta.com because it saved me $80 on the price of a plane ticket by alerting me to a fare decrease. Now the fare-alert site can tell you immediately if frequent-flier seats are available on a flight you’re considering, or you can enter the flight information and the site will email you if one becomes available. Brilliant!

Currently, Yapta.com supports rewards programs from the following airlines: American, Delta, Continental, U.S. Airways and United. Check out the Frequent Flier FAQs to get some more details about the service.

With the crushing economy spurring more people using frequent flier miles lately, and airlines running on reduced capacity (thus, fewer rewards seats all around), competition to book tickets using frequent flier miles will be fierce. So, whether you’re planning a tropical vacation or a ski trip next year, consider taking the time to register your plans with Yapta.com to score some of those beloved “free” seats.
