Women On Their Way: 10 Holiday Getaways

Now that the year is coming to an end, I thought it would be fun look at some 2008 TravelingMamas adventures and posts over the last year. Women on Their Way recently released a list of family vacation destinations where travelers can get into the holiday spirit and it just so happens TravelingMamas has blogged about nearly every destination on their list. Along with this list Woman on Their Way is offering specials for each destination. If you don’t know, Women on Their Way is a site created by Wyndham Worldwide – launched in 1995 – and is dedicated to female travelers. The focus is to listen and respond to women travelers needs and concerns. Sounds fantastic to me!

1. New Orleans, Louisiana – Last winter I had the opportunity to explore arts & antiques in New Orleans, and CajunMama had her own fabulous experience, too.

2. Las Vegas, Nevada - CajunMama and I also hit BlogWorldExpo together and just recently MudslideMama went to the Travel Luxury Expo (we should all try to get there together). Oh, and here are some cheap Vegas eats.

3. Puerto Rico – Here is a tale of the worst family vacation ever (which happens to be in Puerto Rico). This funny tale combines red ants, rain and an intoxicated child. It’s a must read.

Vermont

4. Killington, Vermont – MudslideMama answered a question from a traveling mama flying to Vermont. I wonder how her trip went.

5. Playa del Carmen, Mexico – While a margarita does sound quite tasty right about now, TravelingMamas likes to call it as we see it and that’s why this travel warning is one of our most popular 2008 posts.

8. New York, New York – These are the Top 10 Things To Do In NYC over the holidays, plus, The Ball is dropping soon!

9. Williamsburg, Virginia - We gave away a trip during our Boycott the Staycation this summer. The prize was to – you guessed it – Williamsburg.

10. Freeport, Bahamas - I’ve spent a lot of time in the Bahamas but haven’t blogged about it yet. MountainMama wrote a comparison between all-included and do-it-yourself vacations – perfect for your trip to the Caribbean.

    There are some great deals in European cities during the pre-Christmas season. We just spent 12 days in Budapest, Bratisalava, Vienna and Prague and got excellent off-season rates for hotels located smack in the prime locations. These cities–any many more in Germany, Switzerland and elsewhere–have fantastic Christmas markets selling mulled wine, decorations,gifts and more that are open during the entire Advent season, Munich in particular is wonderful during this time.
