  • Dontcha just HATE that hotels only have one plug that is available. Sometimes reaching that one particular plug turns you into a contortionist, stretching and possibly pulling a muscle, just to get the prongs in the outlet. What if you want to charge more than one electronic item?

No longer does a traveler have to moan and groan while reaching to plug in the cell phone charger. No longer does a traveler have to switch out items for charging. This power strip from CableOrganizer.com has multiple outlets, including a USB charging port. Now all of your charging problems are eliminated.

Monster Cable’s mini power strips are a compact and convenient way to power your devices. The dual sided design includes wide spaced outlets so you can plug in large adapter plugs. You can safely charge up to four devices at a time as these mini power strips come equipped with a resettable circuit breaker to prevent overloads. The 24k gold plated plug is corrosion resistant to provide you the best possible power transfer and it illuminates to indicate you are receiving power. Monster’s power strips are ideal for travel as the flat wrap cord folds away neatly and will fit into a standard sized laptop or travel bag. These 4 outlet power strips are ideal for use on laptops, cell phones, PDA’s and charging stations.

Congratulations to Steve Scott who can now charge multiple electronics while traveling.

  • It is a total pain in the behind to try and put bulky winter clothing on baby. And then, baby won’t even fit comfortably in her stroller or carrier with all those thick coats on.

PoshPouch premium carrier cover is the answer to this common grievance. The soft faux suede is wind- and water-resistant, while the plush faux fur keeps baby cozy. No more need for bulky snow suits or jackets. It is maching washable and even has a handy front pocket for keys or cell phone. It unzips without hassle for easy access to baby AND its reversible. This neat travel gear can be found online at Kiddopatamus.com or at any Babies’ R Us Store.

Congratulations to Sonya Sparks who won a pink PoshPouch.

  • I really dislike children’s songs in other languages. I don’t ever know what they are singing. What if I’m teaching my kids to sing bad words in Swahili?

This video gives a great look into the story behind Putumayo Kids CDs. I’m a big fan of Putumayo World Music because they have a large collection of Louisiana music and they also have given more than $200,000 in proceeds to the New Orleans Habitat for Humanity. Thanks, Putumayo! Congratulations to Joan Olson for her TravelingMamas.com comment and to @kimmance for her Tweet on Twitter.

  • I really hate all the germs people carry around and the TSA only allows me a certain size hand sanitizer on the plane. How can I get rid of all those icky things people carry around?

Did you ever wonder how to kill all those yucky germs when traveling? No need to carry around an endless supply of antibacterial wipes to clean surfaces. This travel size UV sanitizing wand from Overstock.com is under $40. It takes less than a minute to get sanitary with a UV Sanitary Wand. Cleaning appliance turns on when pressed up against a surface. UV Sanitizing Wand is great for the home, office, breakroom or traveling. UV light only turns on when up against a surface, the light will not turn on when the wand is right side up making it kid friendly. It only takes 45-60 seconds to clean an area.

I tested this product, and while I can’t tell you if it actually kills germs (how can you tell?), it is light-weight and compact. Retails for around $37. Congratulations to Deci Worland who commented that a surprise was needed to cheer you up. Now you can be somewhat germ-free. Surprise.

  • I’m so tired of carrying around all these items for language translators. I have a book, an electronic gadget, and even that immersion language program that is advertised everywhere.

This is a common Festivus Grievance. But thankfully, Random House has stepped up to the plate and offers an affordable and convenient translator – iKnow Living Languages.

What makes this product so special?

    1. Retails for $13.95US, which makes it pocketbook friendly.
    2. Works with any video-compatible iPod Nano, Touch, Classic, and iPhone.
    3. Currently offered in seven different languages.
    4. Has more than 1500 essential words and phrases.

We’re giving away three iKnow Living Languages in honor of Festivus. Congratulations to @nerdseyeview, @mommosttraveled, and Jason. You’ll each get one copy of an iKnow language. Now you won’t have to worry about to ask for a restroom in a foreign language. Happy Festivus!
