We've stayed there several times (with and without kids) and it's a very family-friendly resort. My kids love the Keys because there's so much for them to do on, near and under the water. There's a kayak outfitter right in Islamorada that offers great guided kayak tours into the mangroves (Back Country Cowboy). We've gone on snorkeling trips from Bud 'n Mary's Marina. And the kids love to feed the tarpon (and watch for manatees) at Robbie's. Plus, if you have a car, drive a little further south and do a dolphin swim at Hawk's Cay Resort.
