My husband and I went to Alaska on a cruise. We felt great thru the twelve days of running and seeing everything, but the flight home has made us sick. I want to know what to do now. It has been over a week and we are still have nauseea, dizziness, can't eat, and so tired. We are eating light foods and drinking water. But by noon we are on the couch. ( We came home to company and a funneral so daily rest was not there at the return home.) Could we have caught a bug/virus that needs to be checked out? (I called my Dr. and was told to take Imodeum and if not better in 4 days call him again.) Another couple that went with us went to bed rest for three days and now they have trouble sleping at the right time.
Do you have any suggestions???

I ALWAYS get sick when I travel, too, but hadn't heard of FlyRight--thanks for the tip! A Neti Pot is great too for washing out your sinuses when you land.

Thanks for the tips, Allison and Keith.

Kara, that is funny. I like the smell/taste of it. It reminds me of tea.

So funny, I tried Fly Right on my trip to Aruba (also killer travel itinerary from Colorado). I could not finish my 2-oz (4-oz?) suggested dosage in my water bottle. The strong herbal smell got the best of me.

That said, I did manage about half of it, and felt good when I arrived (after a red-eye!). I was also conscious of drinking a LOT of plain water en route.

Good advice!

Thre's nothing like someone with the sniffles getting cooped up in a metal tube with 50-200 people for a few hours.

A hint I'd give ... at buffet meals, try to get as far to the front as possible. While the standard of hygiene in the kitchen may be impeccable, can you be sure that everyone picking over those rolls used the tongs, or washed their hands since they last used the toilet?

Hi DesertMama-

If you get sick every time you travel, you have to try Nozin! This stuff will be your new best travel buddy. It kills the 99% of the bacteria in your nose and gives you an 8 hour barrier against catching new germs!
