Wow, this Winning Wednesday is a biggie. The Traveling Mamas are so lucky to be able to give away a Flip Ultra digital video camera, and we really enjoy browsing readers’ ideas of what they’d first take videos of with the camera. What a fun contest! Thank you, everyone who entered.

But unfortunately, there can be only one winner. Who is the winner of the Flip Ultra digital camera contest giveaway? Why, it’s…(drum roll, please) Monica Surfaro Spigelman! Congratulations, Monica!

Our winner wrote a pretty great comment, by the way (which is always nice, even though the winners are selected randomly for all Traveling Mamas giveaways). She wrote, “Loved your explanation of Flip Ultra – now I want one! What I’d record with my new Flip: Native plants and wildlife glimpsed along the trails I walk here in the Catalina Mountains. I’m preparing an electronic journal for online posting about our beautiful yet endangered natural environment. Flip would be my invaluable ‘media partner’ in this project. Thanks for this opportunity!”

What can I say? That’s a wonderful project you have planned, Monica. The Traveling Mamas are happy that this prize will help you create that electronic journal.     I just picked my head up to look at your site. Woo hoo, I am a winner!!!!! I am overjoyed and look forward to receiving my Flip Ultra video camera.

    Not to get overly serious….but I strongly believe story-telling helps everyone build a “sense of place” in their community. My husband and I traveled to Tucson for many years before deciding to move here (sorry we didn’t have your website as a guide, but we did OK!) Now that we have moved and are settling in, the visual story-telling through your Flip Ultra will help us reaffirm our love of this area (and why we left NYC.) It also will help document the biodiversity and natural beauty of this magical Sonoran Desert. In a small way, we all can do our part for this world. And have fun too.

    Thanks for the opportunity to have entered your contest. I am fairly new to the Blog world which I discovered while on Medical leave from my job. I love Tucson and have visited several times. I hope to get back to Arizona in the next several years. I would love to read about girlfriend getaways. I have friends in Minnesota who get together every couple of years and we are always looking for next places to visit. Thanks and I will keep checking back.
