citypass_in_hand_sf_thmHave you ever used CityPass? These pocket-sized attraction booklets save money, time and hassle in North America’s biggest city destinations such as:  Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Hollywood, Houston, New York, Philadelphia Seattle and Toronto.  Some attractions include, depending on your city of choice, Statue of Liberty & Ellis Island, Blue and Gold Fleet Bay Cruise, Space Center Houston – and so much more! You purchase a pack at a reduced rate and get tickets to five or six top attractions and you get to skip the ticket lines at most attractions. Ticket details provide tips such as public transportation routes and the best time to enjoy the museum or attraction.  From the first time the booklet is used, visitors have nine days to use the tickets in the book – two weekends and a full week in between.

thm_citypass_pop-out_blackbgA very cool feature is that the unused tickets are transferable, which means you can pass leftover tickets on to friends or family.

CityPass has generously offered a Traveling Mamas reader a prize of two adult and two youth tickets for any CityPass big city destinations (a $200 value!). If you win you may choose from New York, Boston, Chicago, Seattle, San Francisco, Hollywood, Houston, Atlanta, or Toronto Canada. (Sorry, Southern California is excluded).

How to win: Leave a comment below telling us which pass you would pick and why. One entry per person per day. The contest will run through July 21  (midnight PST) when we will randomly select the winner at random.org and announce him or her on Wednesday July 22. US residents only; one entry per person, please.

Good luck!

NY because it’s my backyard and would love to explore!

  2. Heather Gill says:

I would choose San Francisco because I think my 5 year old daughter would enjoy it now that she’s a little older.

  3. Jen says:

San Francisco! We’re in San Diego but my four kids and I are readifying for a road trip up to Canada at the end of the month. SF is one of our favorite cities ever, so we’d make good use of these passes.

We also wouldn’t say no to Seattle, either; that’s a city worth a detour!

    Thanks for the opportunity :)

  4. CR Kemmerer says:

San Francisco, because I’m a student at UC Berkeley – just across the Bay. I’m entering my senior year and I still haven’t explored the city like I want due to personal budget constraints. I especially like museums!

  5. Jen says:

Did I really type “readifying”? lol

    Hope spelling doesn’t count!

  6. Jules says:

Seattle! It’s a lovely city that I’d like to explore again with my kids.

  7. Mickeyfan says:

Chicago. It’s a doable trip for us and we enjoy the types of things that are part of the CityPass packages.

  8. OH.. The choices!!!

My first choice is San Diego but it wasn’t included so I would pick Atlanta – my backyard. We have been doing things around Atlanta area but I would mind going back to GA Aquarium and other attractions. :)

  9. I hope Dad is allowed to enter. :)

I would pick Atlanta for my family. I would love to take my family and explore my own city this Summer.

Atlanta, since we are only a couple hours away and would love to visit.

I would like to win Seattle. We live there and have never done many of the site seeing highlights that most people travel here to see. The tourist know our city better than we do!

  13. Kathleen Root says:

Chicago! We live close enough, but money is really tight right now. This sure would help!

  14. Amanda S. says:

I’d choose Seattle because we live close by, but rarely do the “touristy” things. It would sure make for a fun day or two with the kids!

My girlfriend and I wanted to go to Chicago to celebrate her 60th birthday so this would be a perfect way to explore that wonderful city.

  21. Amber G says:

I would pick passes for Chicago because I am about 2 hours away from the city and this would be as far as we can afford to go for a vacation this year! Citypasses sure would make the trip special.

  22. Cindy says:

I would choose Boston because I absolutely love this city! There is so much to do there!

  23. Jayne says:

Boston has lots of fun CityPass attractions like the Museum of Science. With a free CityPass, we could splurge on a Duck Tour!

  24. paul haddock says:

    NY the big apple!

  25. Jamie says:

I would pick Chicago, because despite my numerous visits there I’ve yet to go to many of the tourist attractions!

  26. Daniela Mel says:

New York!!! I live in the city for 8 years but I NEVER get to be a tourist. I’ve never been to Ellis Island (Believe it or Not)

  27. misty says:

Atlanta because it is shame and lame that I still have not visited all the great places in my own hometown.

  28. Sandra says:

    New York!
We are visiting there in September on a very tight budget and this would allow us to do more than we currently will be able to.

Thanks for the fabulous site :)

  29. Tamara Shannon says:

It is such a tough choice! I would pick Seattle though because I would love to surprise my husband and my two boys with a trip to Washington. We have been running really low on money since my husband lost his job in May and it would be great to take them somewhere none of us have ever been!

  30. Gideon says:

    NY.

Because I am poor and it is my dream.

  31. jen says:

My son and I had a blast in Boston when he came along for a conference. Unfortunately, half the sites he saw were with a babysitter. I’d love to go back and do them with him myself!

  32. Chris G. says:

    CHICAGO BABY!!!
    Why Chicago?
    Shedd Aquarium’s Wild Reef
Field Museum and Sue the T-Tex.
Museum of Science and Industry, the largest science Museum in the Western Hemosphere.
The Sky Deck Chicago, look straight down from the talest building in America.
    What’s not to love?

  35. Jayne says:

I would like to explore Boston with a CityPass. There are so many places I haven’t seen.

I would choose Atlanta because I’ve been dying to take my three year old to the aquarium. Plus, my husband’s twin brother lives nearby and we would get to see his family too!

  37. Anson Young says:

San Francisco, for several reasons. We lived near there for 25 years, bu didn’t hit the tourist attractions. We will br visiting there twice this year. And we have two grown daughters who live no too far from there, and could use them to see any attractions that we missed.

  38. Michael Kuntz says:

I LOVE City Pass! My roommate and I got 2 of them when we were in Seattle last December and it was incredible all the things we got to do. I would love to win a set of these for San Francisco. I live very close (Sacramento) and go there often but never do anything other than the “usual” stuff. I went to the City Pass website and saw that with the pass we could check do:

Muni & Cable Car 7-day Passport
    California Academy of Sciences
Blue & Gold Fleet Bay Cruise
    Aquarium of the Bay
San Francisco Museum of Modern Art
    Exploratorium
    OR
de Young / Legion of Honor

We’ve been hanging out with my roommate’s little brother and sister for awhile now since our “staycation” (whole other story)… and they’ve never got to do any of this because their dad is sort of a jerk. It would make them ecstatic to be able to do all of this with us. I can’t say it enough how amazing this would be if I won… not just for me, but for the kids!

  39. steven lewis says:

i hope to visit NY soon and this would be of great assistance!

  40. Alexandrea M says:

Seattle – and I wish I’d known about these when my sister-in-law visited, or when my parents-in-law visited, but I am glad I know about them NOW so when my friends from Canada visit so we can afford to go all those places~!

  41. I would pick Chicago. I live in Chicago but I so rarely get up the gumption to go downtown and see the sights. With these passes I would finally have the incentive I need to take that staycation I need so badly!
