Best Family Adventure: A weeklong trip to hike in the Rocky Mountain National Park and show the Theme Park Kid snow for the very first time.
Worst Family Mishap: Pulling up to a roadside motel I had reserved the day before, only to find out that it had closed overnight. It was a rural area, and we drove 20 miles to the next motel, which was filthy and less comfortable than if we had just slept in the car.
Never Travels Without: Ibuprofen, Colgate Wisp and Dansko clogs.
Always Forgets to Pack: Socks! We just don’t wear them enough in Florida, I guess.
