Princess Cruises Regal Princess Overview

This post is part of our Princess Cruises Regal Princess Series.

Princess Cruises Regal Princess cruise ship launched in 2014 and was refurbished in 2017. The ship has more than 1,337 staterooms on this Royal Class ship, which features The Seawalk, a 28 foot glass-floored walkway. With four swimming pools, 8 hot tubs, adult-only areas, and 19 decks, there are a number of areas for quiet and relaxation while at sea. We recently spent a week on this cruise ship to check out what’s new and to explore a few favorite spaces from prior visits.

Below is a full list of what’s currently available on Princess Cruises Regal Princess (as of March 1, 2023). Each section is highlighted that includes a personal experience review of that particular space, along with photos, if available.

Regal Princess at Princess Cays

Getting There:

Currently, the Regal Princess sails out of Port Everglades, just a few minutes away from Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. All the major airlines service this destination, including a few new Ultra Low Cost Carriers such as Avelo Airlines and Breeze, which both offer direct service from smaller airports. For this particular adventure, we flew on JetBlue direct from Boston due to inclement weather concerns. It is highly suggested to arrive a day or two before the cruise, to offset any delays or unexpected mishaps. There are also plenty of hotels in the vicinity for an overnight before a cruise.

Staterooms:

There are 890 outside staterooms, with 522 balcony cabins, 186 mini-suites, 28 suites, and 2 family suites. We were booked in a mini-suite, E409, which offered a little extra balcony space, due to the exterior deck design. Mini-suite cabins offer extra interior space, including a sitting area with sofa and coffee table, and welcome glasses of bubbly. There are robes and slippers, a refrigerator, writing desk, and other amenities. There is also the option to book a Reserve Collection Mini-Suite (formerly called Club Class) with even more perks, such as access to Reserve Collection dining, complimentary canapes upon request and many other upgrades.

Food & Beverage:

Most dining venues are included in the regular cruise fare. There are a few which require a premium charge, or a la carte ordering. We did not get an opportunity to eat at each one, however we gave it good effort! Also with the new Princess Plus or Princess Premium Plus Packages, drinks are included, within limits. Each package includes up to 15 drinks per day (from 6pm to 6am) at certain price levels. Princess Plus tops out at $15/drink and Princess Premium Plus is up to $20/drink. This includes specialty coffees, soft drinks, wine, beer, and cocktails. The packages also include WIFI and crew gratuities. As of Feb 20, 2023 there even more benefits included.

The Director of Restaurant Operations, Nicola Furlan, was attentive to guests’ needs. We saw him at each restaurant we dined in, as he would stop at various tables, checking to make sure everyone was enjoying their meals. He was also extremely knowledgeable about the wine list and any questions we had. When not dining at specialty restaurants on the Regal Princess, we opted to enjoy dinner at the Symphony Dining Room, for Club Class guests.
