Florida Keys
The Florida Keys is an archipelago made up of 1700 islands. While I don’t think we’ll be able to cover all 1700 of these islands on TravelingMamas.com, it is one of the more laid back places to visit in the United States. Key West is the most populous and popular of all the Florida Keys and it’s not only a fabulous romantic destination, but there are also so many activities for families.
How to Get There
There are a few option for exploring the Florida Keys, but unless you plan on staying in one location for the duration of your visit, then you’ll do well to have use of a vehicle while there. Many travelers fly into Miami and rent a car for their use. Another option is to fly into Key West airport. I’ve traveled both ways, with my favorite option being an arrival into Key West with a vehicle rental and a return from Miami. This was a great way to start at Key West and make my way through the major keys.
